The Balsa Muisca or Balsa Dorada is a piece of votive gold smithery, made by Muisca’s culture between the years 1200 to 1500 B.C. and it has been interpreted as the representation of the
El Dorado legend, and symbolizes the investiture ceremony of the Cacique over the Guatavita lagoon. Nowadays it is exposed in the Museo del Oro of Bogotá, Colombia.
